Steele Creek Swim
Steele Creek Swim, founded by Daniel, is a rapidly growing youth swim program based in Charlotte, North Carolina. What started as a five-week fall swim clinic has expanded into a structured three-month program with nearly 90 swimmers, ranging from ages 5 to 18. Daniel, a seasoned coach, recognized the need for an advanced swim program beyond summer league but without the rigorous commitment of year-round clubs. His mission? To create a home for swimmers who wanted to continue improving their skills while staying engaged in a fun, competitive environment.
The Challenge
Transforming Meet Management: From Chaos to Clarity
Before Swimmingly, Daniel relied on outdated meet management methods—stopwatches, paper records, and endless hours of manual data entry. Tracking swimmer progress was a tedious process, and sharing results with parents required a lot of extra effort. The inefficiency wasn’t just an inconvenience; it took valuable time away from creating a better experience for swimmers.
Even with experience using traditional software, Daniel found himself bogged down in a cycle of downloading and uploading files and managing meet entries. The process was cumbersome and disconnected, making it difficult to showcase individual swimmer growth over time. He needed a smarter, more intuitive solution—one that could streamline meet operations, provide real-time access to results, and actively engage swimmers and their families without adding hours of administrative burden.

The Solution
A Seamless, Mobile-First Meet Management Experience
Daniel first learned about Swimmingly through a parent recommendation and quickly realized it was the missing piece he needed. Instead of juggling paperwork, spreadsheets, and expensive timing systems, everything could now be managed from the palm of his hand. Daniel could run meets efficiently with fewer volunteers while saving hours of administrative work and maintaining a well-organized experience that focuses on the swimmers’ growth.
Beyond its technical ease, Swimmingly transformed engagement for families. Parents could track their swimmers' progress in real time, even if they couldn’t attend meets in person. Thanks to hands-on support from the Swimmingly team, Steele Creek Swim successfully hosted its first official meet using the platform—an event that reinforced to Daniel that this was the future of his program.

The Result
Faster Meets, Engaged Parents, and a Standout Program
The impact of Swimmingly was immediate. “It used to take hours to compile and share meet results—now it’s done instantly,” Daniel said. Not only did Swimmingly cut down his administrative workload, but it also created a more engaging experience for families. “Parents love that they can track their kids’ progress without having to create their own spreadsheets,” he added.
The accessibility of mobile devices for timing and tracking made the meets more interactive, and Daniel noticed an increase in parent participation. Beyond efficiency, Swimmingly became a unique differentiator for Steel Creek Swim, setting it apart from other programs in the area. As Daniel looks to the future, he’s already thinking about expanding Swimmingly’s use, knowing firsthand how much it has transformed his meets. His advice to others considering the switch? "Just dive in. It’s not like other software—it’s easy to use, and it benefits the entire team, not just the coaches. Parents love it, swimmers love it, and it makes running meets so much simpler."
